Practice Dataset License
In effect from 1 June 2026.
This License governs your use of the VetEval public practice dataset (the “Practice Set”), the published subset of benchmark items made available for familiarisation. It supplements our Terms of Service. By accessing or downloading the Practice Set you accept this License.
The Practice Set is the only VetEval item data licensed to you. The private held-out set is confidential, is never published, and no rights in it are granted.
1. What you may do
- Access and use the Practice Set internally to understand what VetEval measures and how items are structured.
- Run your own unscored, internal evaluations against it.
- Quote a limited number of items in research, documentation, or commentary, with attribution to VetEval.
2. What you may not do
- Use the Practice Set, in whole or in part, to train, fine-tune, retrieve against, or otherwise optimise a model for the purpose of improving a VetEval score, or in any way intended to game, contaminate, or defeat the benchmark.
- Redistribute, republish, sell, sublicense, or make the Practice Set available as a dataset or product, in whole or in substantial part.
- Use it to attempt to identify, infer, or reconstruct the private held-out items, the per-run selection, or the stable comparison subset.
- Remove or obscure attribution or provenance notices, or present the Practice Set as your own.
- State or imply that use of the Practice Set, or any internal score derived from it, is a VetEval result, ranking, endorsement, or certification.
- Use it as clinical reference material or for the care of any animal.
3. Provenance and ownership
Practice Set items are independently authored by our team of licensed veterinarians from open primary sources, human-verified, with full provenance. viggoVet owns the Practice Set, its selection and arrangement, and all rights in it that are capable of ownership, and retains all rights not expressly granted here. This License grants no rights in the VetEval name or marks beyond nominative attribution.
4. No warranty and no clinical use
The Practice Set is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, including as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a purpose. It consists of examination-style items and is not veterinary advice, not clinical guidance, and not for use in the care of any animal. See the Disclaimer.
5. Term and termination
This License continues until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach it, and we may terminate or suspend access at any time. On termination you must stop using and delete your copies of the Practice Set, except where retention is required by law. Sections on prohibited use, ownership, warranty, and liability survive.
6. Liability and governing law
Liability under this License is subject to the limitations in our Terms of Service, and this License is governed by Swiss law and the dispute-resolution regime set out in those Terms of Service.
